I expect the security issue to disappear over time as the younger generation, already more comfortable with sharing information and making mobile purchases, grows up.
Yes, people got over their security fears about the web and became ready to shop and give out personal security info, but they didn’t take their desktop PC with them everywhere they went. You never left your desktop at a bar, or had it stolen from you while you at the park.
I’ve had two phones stolen from me over the years. The first time, three years ago, I lamented the loss of my pictures and contacts. The second time, a few weeks ago, I had piercing fears of stolen credit card info, passwords, addresses, reward card numbers, my bank accounts, etc.
The security issue will continue to evolve, but don’t tell me its going to disappear. It’s still an arms race and you’re a target no matter what. If you’re a mobile target, you’re just more accessible.
